Gatwick Express

Gatwick Express

Location: London

The view from the Gatwick Express, the train that takes you from Victoria Station to Gatwick airport. It's only a 30 minute ride: significantly shorter than the hour and a half it takes by car.

19 pounds for a first class ticket, which entitles you to a coach nicer than the Acelas back in the states, and a picture-window view of the grey and green London suburbs as they roll past, ultimately giving way to the green and brown fields of England.

It is, of course, raining here ... but the air undoubtedly smells of Spring.
